The first school teaching material selected to be recommended to all schools by the National Central Education was Chinese Poetry Reading and Appreciation
The book was written by four Chinese teachers Li Xiaonian, Gong Ke, Li Liexiang and Hou Yanyu and got the first prize in the UNESCO 2004 national quality educational outcomes prize competition.
